Vera, the older twin, is dull and introverted, while her younger sister, Rey, is naturally lively and charming. When the sisters reach sixteen, Vera’s fiancé falls in love with Rey and swiftly marries her. Vera has fallen into deeper inferiority since then. Only books are able to soothe her, as well as a mysterious pen pal “Sir S.” A change of fortune comes at a ceremony. Vera bravely replaces another girl as the bride of sacrifice for the cursed prince. Legend has it that a witch cursed the prince to become a man-eating beast, so he was imprisoned in the castle. None of the six brides sent to the castle survived. However, when Vera steps into the castle, she encounters the gentle Prince Leon and meets her mysterious pen pal “Sir S,” who has corresponded with her for many years. It turns out that he is Shire the wizard in the castle. While interacting with them, Vera regains the confidence she lost throughout her upbringing, discovers her value of life, and uncovers the truth about why Rey lures her fiancé. Finally, with everybody’s courage and cooperation, the witch’s curse is broken one by one. Vera is eventually happy, and Shire, Leon, and Rey also get what they truly want.
