《未完成的任務—現代台灣締造者》旨在尋找『台灣如何成為今日的台灣』的答案。超過百年的戶籍制度、少子化、土地破碎化、代工廠基因、嚴重的工業污染、自由世界橋頭堡及邊緣模範生，台灣是如何走到今天的？百年現代化塑造了當代台灣，不同時代的治理團隊，曾經面對什麼問題、如何解決問題？此刻的台灣人又正面臨什麼問題？「解決問題」是由每個時代的人們接力完成的任務，我們或許能藉著了解過去的歷程，思考眼前一個個未完成的任務，而官員、專家、團隊，以及每一個平凡的個人，都是任務的締造者。
"The Making of Modern Taiwan" aims to find the answer to "How Taiwan becomes the Taiwan today". Taiwan has long facing issues including declining birthrate, fragmentation of land, serious genetic science and industrial pollution. From the rising stars in Asia to the outsider of Four Asian Tigers, what have changed and shaped Taiwan? What problems did the governance teams of different eras faced and what politic strategies have they made? What problems are Taiwan now facing? It is a task that is completed by Taiwanese in each era. By learning the course from our history, we may be able to handle the tasks lies in the future more visionary.
