Li Chin grows up in a big family in Shezidao, an isolated community in Taipei. At the age of sixteen, he is facing a series of misfortunes. He is forced to join the school baseball team simply because they are short of players. While being busy with his studies, his family run into numerous problems. His mother and the eldest sister get pregnant at the same time while his future brother-in-law is to be sent to jail. His estranged grandfather wishes to leave him money after his death but only on some ridiculous condition. What troubles Li Chin most is his love life – out of kindness, he accepts his teammate when the boy confesses his love for Li Chin but then Li Chin falls for the pitcher as the training goes on. Nonetheless, before he has the chance to express his feelings for the pitcher, the pitcher is going abroad for his studies. Seeing himself about to lose his love, his family falling apart and his team keeping losing, Li Chin, who has always been passive, now decides to take action to save his youth!
