每晚都受噩夢和反覆發燒所苦的大學生岳百華，在精通異能的靈修者駱書天指點下，回到她兒時居住的豐和村找尋解方。豐和村位處深山，過去以捕蛇聞名，近幾年因蛇群棲地被濫伐而數量銳減，村民們力求轉型，因此轉以造型草人吸引觀光客朝聖。百華在扶養她長大的叔叔岳氏仲陪同下踏入村莊，卻發現這裡有個恐怖禁忌：「夜間11點後不得出門，否則將觸犯黑法術身亡。」。原來村人私下謠傳過往受黑法術操控來守護村莊的稻草人，因黑法術失傳而失控在夜間獵殺人類。村民們為求自保，因此子時後絕不出門。當百華和叔叔得知村莊的秘密想連夜離開時，卻因豪雨致災山路坍方無法逃脫。 被困在陰冷深山內的百華，無意間發現已逝的母親是黑法術傳人，母親並因此和蛇妖結下深仇。而此次百華受到召喚來豐和村，得肩負任務為過往恩怨做出了斷。

Bai-Hua, a college student, has constantly suffered from bad dreams and fevers at night. Under the guidance of Shu-Tian, a sorcerer that possessed superpowers, Bai-Hua return to Feng-He Village to find a cure where she stayed during childhood. Feng-He Village located at a remote mountain, it was famous for capturing snakes, but the villagers are striving for a change because the amount of snake nests is greatly decreased due to the deforestation in recent years. In order to attract tourists, the villagers start to decorate scarecrows. With the companion of Yue, Bai-Hua’s uncle also the person who raised her, Bai-Hua steps in the village. However, they found out that there is a frightful taboo in the village: “One shouldn’t leave the house after eleven at night, or else one would behead due to violation of Dark Magic.” But in fact, the taboo came from a rumor that says the scarecrows had lost controlled and can’t protect the village due to no one knows Dark Magic to manipulate the scarecrows. After discovering the secret, Bai-Hua and her uncle tries to leave overnight, but their escape plan fails due to a rainstorm. Being stuck in the gloomy and cold mountain, Bai-Hua unexpectedly discovered that her mother is the heir of the Dark Magic. Because of this, Bai-Hua’s mother had become enemies with the basilisk. Hence, the reason why Bai-Hua was being summoned to Feng-He Village is to shoulder the responsibility of solving the problems from the past…
