As the “only active” umpire in Asia who has officiated more than 3,000 professional baseball games, he has also officiated the most number of games during the regular season of the CPBL, most games as an umpire and most games officiated for the Taiwan Series in the history of the CPBL. He is the under-the-radar Pride of Taiwan - Chien-Wen, Su. Chen-chu, Wang once offered praise for Chien-Wen, Su and said, “If umpires could be as decisive and make calls like him, they would all be recognized for their abilities.” In 1991, he decided to participate in the tryout with the encouragement of his wife.
