國立臺灣大學中文系畢業，現專事寫作。曾獲《聯合報》、《中國時報》小說獎、吳三連文學獎、中國文藝協會文藝獎章及金馬獎改編劇本獎。為傳統女性發聲，作品篇篇與時代脈搏息息相關，擊中社會要害。寫兩性情懷，最能撫平現代人的傷口，公認是社會性最強、共鳴最大、最具現代感的小說家。作品多部曾改拍為電影和電視劇。
Graduated from the Chinese Department of National Taiwan University, now specializing in writing.
