In the 1930s, Taihoku High School was the only higher education institution in Taiwan that boasted a free and autonomous academic style.

1930年代，標榜自由、自治學風的臺灣唯一高等學校，七星寮宿舍搬進了一位學生。葉星橋，成功考取「窄門中的窄門」，懵懵懂懂帶著家人的期望，以醫師為志向，離家北上求學；室友南城雲太郎，學校知名的問題人物，放盪不羈、熱愛閲讀， 卻因蹺課太多面臨退學危機。性格背景截然不同的兩人成為好友。身處自由與知識的搖籃，滿懷青春的迷惘與憧憬。某一天，南城突然興致勃勃地對葉星橋説：「現在的《翔風》制式又死板，我們來做一本自己的雜誌吧⋯⋯」 漫畫家左萱深刻挖掘資料，以細緻獨特的筆觸，描繪臺北高校生豐富的社團活動與校外生活，刻畫了敝衣破帽，放浪青春的學生樣態，也重現了臺北高校最迷人美好的1930年代。
In the 1930s, a student, 葉星橋, moved into the dormitory of the only higher education school in Taiwan, which boasted a free and autonomous academic style. He succeeded in gaining admission to the "narrow gate of the narrow gate". With the expectations of his family, he leaves home to study with the ambition of becoming a doctor. His roommate, 南城雲太郎, is a well-known problematic person at school. He is a debaucher and loves to read, but he is in danger of dropping out of school due to too many absences. The two men, with very different backgrounds, become close friends. Being in the cradle of freedom and knowledge, full of youthful confusion and longing, they decide to work together to make a magazine. 左萱, a comic artist, digs deep into the data and depicts the rich club activities and off-campus life of Taihoku High School students with a delicate and unique brushstroke. It portrays the youthful students with shabby clothes and hats, and recreates the most charming and beautiful 1930s in Taihoku High School.

漫畫、插畫工作者。 2015年出版第一本長篇漫畫《神之鄉》獲日本國際漫畫賞銅賞，已售出日、法、越、義文版權，並授權改編電視劇，於2021年播映；2017年參與『漫畫植劇場』系列，繪製漫畫版《五味八珍的歲月》；代表台灣參加2017年法國安古蘭漫畫節與2017年德國法蘭克福書展。
Design student Zuo Hsuan has already become well-known as a cover illustrator for works of light fiction. Her first published manga, Rites of Returning, won her the Bronze Award of the 2015 International Manga Award in Japan. She has represented Taiwan at the 2017 Angoulême International Comics Festival and Frankfurt Book Fair.
