台灣作家龍瑛宗書寫的經典短篇小說〈植有木瓜樹的小鎮〉，是以日治時期為背景，刻劃出當代青年的絕望與日本殖民制度下的無力感，與現今中華民國政府體制下的「躺平族」如出一轍。
The classic short story "A Town with Papaya Trees" written by Taiwanese writer Long Ying-zong is set during the Japanese colonial period and depicts the despair of contemporary youth and the sense of powerlessness under the Japanese colonial system, as well as the current government system of the Republic of China. The "Lingping tribe" below is exactly the same.
