Sandalino was out of concern for the future of this beautiful planet that he traveled to Earth, inviting us to peel back the layers of imagination and return to the wonder-filled perspective we once had when first looking at the world. Sandalino doesn’t only appear in picture books and musicals—he’s also a frequent guest at exhibitions, where he never fails to capture the spotlight. And now, Sandalino is here to share a story about the four seasons. In spring, he rides his bicycle through fields of fresh green, joyfully exploring the world. Children and forest animals alike are his close companions. He loves the soft patter of falling rain, and every creature in the deep blue sea adores him. So what about autumn and winter? Where will Sandalino go, and what will he be doing? What new animal friends will join him on his adventures?

1937年生於日本大阪。1960年東京藝術大學繪畫科畢業，之後在義大利待了六年，從事立體作品的創作。包括美國、義大利在內的世界各國美術館、廣場、公園，都可以看到他利用風、水所創造出的動態室外作品。自2000年6月開始，有一年半的時間，他利用風所創作的那些動態作品，在世界的幾個偏遠地區，以「風之行旅（Wind Caravan）」之名展出。繪本作品有《鯨鯊》（玉山社）、《蜘蛛》、《草莓》、《小池塘》（維京國際）等。

Susumu Shingu
Born in Osaka, Japan in 1937, he graduated from the Department of Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1960. He then spent six years in Italy, focusing on the creation of three-dimensional artworks. His dynamic outdoor installations—powered by wind and water—can be found in museums, plazas, and parks across the world, including in the United States and Italy. Beginning in June 2000, he embarked on a journey titled Wind Caravan, showcasing his wind-driven kinetic works in several remote corners of the world over the course of a year and a half.
