於2020/4過世的謝春梅是全台最老執業醫師,生前仍以九旬高齡看診與驗屍。生於日治時期苗栗公館,一身奉獻鄉里。經歷動盪時代,近百人生如史,身邊人物也各有可歌可泣的戀愛、忠義、傳奇故事。從客庄醫生的成長與關懷,看見近代台灣的奮鬥歷史。
Passed in April 2020, Hsieh was the eldest practising doctor of Taiwan. He was on call and performed autopsy even in his 90s. Born at Gongguan in Miaoli during Japanese rule, he dedicated himself to his hometown. His life stories and long time concerns reflect the history of Taiwan.
謝春梅醫師生於日據中葉,經貴人介紹向多位名醫學醫,1944年通過醫師試驗合格,末代台灣總督安藤利吉於治台最後一天,發給他「醫師免許證」,在台灣光復初期醫療資源貧乏的年代,開設福基診所行醫,是苗栗偏鄉的「史懷哲」。早期交通不便,謝春梅得跋山涉水,坐流籠、涉急灘,走遍公館、銅鑼、大湖、泰安、獅潭等偏鄉山澗聚落,救人無數,看盡生老病死,是全台年紀最大的驗屍官,更是位人道送行者。
Dr. Chun-Mei Hsieh was born during Japanese rule. He studied medicine under several renowned doctors. In 1944, he was qualified as a doctor and received the permit on the very last ruling day of Rikichi Ando, the last Governor-General of Taiwan. After World War II, in the era when medicine was in shortage, he founded Fuji Clinic. He was known as Albert Schweitzer of Miaoli hence. In the old days when transportation wasn’t convenient, he used every means available to visit distant villages such as Gongguan, Tongluo, Dahu, Taian and Stan. He was a humanitarian all his life.
1954年生,苗栗公館人,文化大學新聞研究所碩士,1978年考進《聯合報》,曾任苗栗縣、台北縣特派員,地方新聞中心組長、副主任、晚報主任,並兼任聯合大學講師。現從事文史研究、寫作。
Born at Gongguan in Miaoli in 1954. M.A. at the Graduate Institute of Journalism, Chinese Culture University. Former United Daily News correspondent in Miaoli County and Taipei County. His current focus is local literature and history studies.
