In the mid-1930s of the Japanese Occupation period, western civilization spreaded to Taiwan. Young girls accessed new-style education and wanted to love freely. Cuiyu and Xiangxiang, a pair of sisters who were studying in a women's school, were unable to get rid of the shackles of traditional family ethics in the modern era. No one can abandon the system of arranged marriage for young girls. A big earthquake in April caused death and anxiety, and a rumor about the arranged marriage with the Snake Man could turn things around was spreading in the city.

作者簡介
本名謝宜安，1992年生。臺大中文所碩士，臺北地方異聞工作室成員。 著有《特搜！臺灣都市傳說》，關心都市傳說與鬼故事的歷史性，與其中的政治、性別議題。 在工作室參與《說妖》、《臺灣妖怪學就醬》等企劃。 寫過一些小說，得過文化部補助和若干文學獎。文章散見於報刊雜誌與網路平台。
Born in Lukang, one of Taiwan’s best-preserved historical towns, Hsieh Yi-An now resides in Taipei, where she graduated from National Taiwan University. A member of the Taipei Legend Studio, Hsieh is dedicated to researching and promoting local legends of monsters and mysterious happenings. She has contributed writing to the Daemon Tales series of books, and helped develop of the associated tabletop game.
