A portrait of an unknown figure from the Japanese colonial period immortalizes the love affair between a Taiwanese geisha in Dadaocheng and a Japanese painter. Fast forward seventy-five years, the paths of a woman who grew up in an orphanage and a man with a passion for painting converge because of the portrait. 臺灣總督府美術展版《海角七號》，向《不朽的青春》致敬，重新發現追求夢想的熱情與力量！ 參訪前田集團舉辦的〈HOPE！戰後日本藝術展〉時，藝文線記者林悅雪不經意間瞥見一幅人物畫像，畫的竟是反覆出現在她夢中的旗袍女子！為了尋訪神祕女子身分，悅雪結識了策展人、同時也是集團執行長前田光，兩人輾轉查到一九四三年的大稻埕，日本畫師古谷遼為參加臺灣總督府美術展覽會，請來豔冠群芳的藝旦月檀擔任模特兒。 悅雪和光逐步追尋著月檀、古谷遼的人生：江山樓初遇、龍山寺參拜、臺北城漫遊……最後在台南小學校塵封已久的校舍中，找到了另一幅古谷遼的畫作──此時鳳凰花燃燒如野火，月檀是否能逃出藝旦「命比紙薄」的宿命？古谷遼最後的身影為何出現在和歌山無量寺？而逐漸相知相惜的悅雪和光，該如何面對出身背景差異所帶來的現實考驗？這段旅程是否能重新點燃他們追尋自我、實踐夢想的勇氣？
The Office of the Governor-General of Taiwan Art Exhibition Cape No. 7, a tribute to the The Everlasting Bloom exhibition, reminds one about their passion and strength in the pursuit of dreams! During a visit to the ""HOPE! Post-War Japan Art Exhibition"" organized by the Maeda group, arts and culture journalist Lin Yueh-Hsueh chances upon a portrait of a woman. The woman in a cheongsam is the same one who has been appearing repeatedly in Yueh-Hsueh's dreams. In the quest to learn the identity of the mysterious woman, Yueh-Hsueh meets Maeda Hikaru, the curator of the exhibition and CEO of the Maeda Group. The two of them trace the painting back to the Dadaocheng of 1943, when Japanese painter Kotani Ryo engaged the gorgeous Taiwanese geisha Yuetan to be his model for his painting, which he planned to showcase at the Office of the Governor-General of Taiwan Art Exhibition. Yueh-Hsueh and Hikaru follow the trail of Yuetan and Kotani Ryo and visit the places they visited, including the Jiangshan Geisha House where they first met, Longshan Temple where they offered prayers, and the various landmarks in Taipei city that they went to. Eventually, they end up in an abandoned elementary school in Tainan, where they find another painting by Kotani Ryo. It is the season when phoenix flowers go into full bloom, their petals blazing like wildfire. Can Yuetan escape the ill-fated destiny of so many Taiwanese geishas? How did Kotani Ryo end up at the Muryoji Temple in Wakayama Prefecture? Meanwhile, Yueh-Hsueh and Hikaru's time together has brought them closer to each other. How should they reconcile the practical challenges brought about by the differences in their backgrounds? Will this journey reignite their courage to stay true to themselves and pursue their dreams?
