Judith Pernin is a writer and researcher with a background in Film and Chinese studies. She holds a PhD from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Science (Paris) and focused mostly on documentary cinema from Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan. Based in Hong Kong between 2008 and 2020, she worked as a social science researcher and journal editor. Now in Ireland, she is developing an immersive project inspired by her experiences of social movements in Hong Kong and China. Combining a speculative fiction narrative with illustrations, sound recordings, photographs and videos, this non-linear and interactive project leads the user into the possible futures of a territory descending into authoritarianism.
