A mysterious newspaper vending machine suddenly appears throughout the city, dispensing newspapers dated twenty-two years ago. On each front page is the headline of a high school girl’s murder case that was supposedly solved long ago. Rumors swirl: if you see the machine, you must buy a paper—or the girl's vengeful spirit will come for you. Nicknamed the “Ghost Tale Hunter,” writer Yu Yali teams up with her hot-headed editor Guo Kechen in search of a story for their next book. Together, they begin a journey to uncover the truth. At the same time, the vending machine starts appearing before those once connected to the case: an ambitious journalist eager to make a name, a police officer burdened by past decisions, a former classmate who once secretly loved the victim… One by one, the machine triggers a chain reaction in their lives. And soon, the truth buried for twenty-two years is about to come to light.
