After a car accident, Ye Jhan, a second-generation Vietnamese immigrant, gains the ability to "see cracks." She notices that her ex-boyfriend Syu Yu-chen's face is covered in them. Teaming up with comic artist Ciou Shih-sheng, who shares the same ability, she begins to mend the cracks in others, only to confront the long-buried wounds within herself.
In the wake of the accident, Ye Jhan unexpectedly reunites with her ex-boyfriend, lawyer Syu Yu-chen, and meets Ciou Shih-sheng, a comic artist whose illustrated characters are covered in cracks. The next morning, she wakes to find cracks on the faces of those around her, reflecting their hidden wounds. Syu Yu-chen's face bears the scars of workplace conflict and online harassment. As Ye Jhan tries to mend them, she realizes she carries her own scars, left by sexual harassment at work and illness within her family. When Ling, a Vietnamese migrant worker, attempts suicide after being sexually assaulted, Ye Jhan races to help. In doing so, she confronts the indifference of language barriers and systemic injustice, reawakening her own sense of helplessness. Meanwhile, Ciou Shih-sheng hides the pain of losing a close friend in a fire seven years ago. Although he can "see cracks," he has not been able to reconcile with his past.
