【Based on a Bizarre Taiwanese Case — The Incineration of Actress Zhan Rong】 In an early morning in summer of 1993, there was a fire reported from a community apartment, and a burnt body of a famous young female TV star was found. At the scene, firefighters found a notebook with a sentence written on the back of its cover, “Watch out for July 1st, a catastrophe,” which was the exact day of the accident. Twenty-six years later, the government established OHSIR, a special investigation unit for suspense crimes, and the truth behind the fire accident is about to be revealed by three special agents with different background stories. This work is under development into visual works at the moment. The author, Jia-Bang Tang, has won the first prize of the 2019 King Car Soji Shimada Award, and this is his second work.

1993年7月1日凌晨，知名女星周芙在其位於內湖「風華世代」大樓的住處遭縱火焚屍，震驚社會。初步調查將矛頭指向淸潔員曹金獅，警方迅速逼供，卻遭其翻供，聲稱自己只是目擊者。調查方向隨後轉向周芙的男友、遠航集團少東李遠志，然而其不在場證明由多位政商人士背書，令案情陷入僵局。不久後李遠志因掏空案潛逃海外，案件最終被迫封存。
二十七年後，2020年，臺灣政府成立「重大歷史懸疑案件調查辦公室」（簡稱「疑案辦」），欲重啟未破懸案。出身調查局的許通達被任命為特調組組長，他延攬FBI背景的推理專家程允鋒、因醜聞被迫轉調的菁英女警何萃夏，以及年輕冷靜的資料助理程絮。三人風格迥異，卻共同捲入重啟調查周芙命案的任務中。
隨著調閱舊卷、分析監視畫面、重建火場現場，案件過往的疑點逐一浮現：曹金獅並非凶手，李遠志的不在場證明也開始出現破綻。而當年調查局探員阿忠的離奇死亡，更與命案發生時間高度重疊，疑似涉及內鬼洩密與滅口行動。
調查過程揭開警方高層、財團、黑道之間錯綜複雜的關係網，隱藏其後的，是市警局長鍾永紘親自涉案並操控證據的眞相。雖鍾最終未遭起訴，但聲譽重創。案件破局之際，成員們也各自面對自身創傷與過去。眞相固然逐步明朗，然而更深的黑幕與權力漩渦仍未完全揭開⸺正義的代價，也許才剛開始。

【STORY OUTLINE】 In the early hours of July 1, 1993, actress Zhou Fu was found burned to death in her Neihu apartment, shocking the public. Initial suspects, including a janitor and her boyfriend Li Yuanzhi, the Far Eastern Group heir, were cleared due to unreliable confessions and powerful alibis. The case went cold—until 2020. That year, Taiwan's newly formed "Mystery Office" reopened the case. Led by investigator Xu Tongda, the team included profiler Cheng Yunfeng, scandal-scarred officer He Cuixia, and data analyst Cheng Xu. As they revisited evidence and reconstructed the crime scene, long-buried doubts resurfaced—revealing not just a flawed alibi, but signs of a cover-up involving corrupt officials, corporate ties, and the underworld.
