A young paper effigy craftsman believes that by burning his creations, the living can send their longing and blessings to the dead. It is through this very act—making and burning paper offerings—that he begins to recover from the grief of losing someone he loved, and from the guilt of having survived alone. One ordinary day, a sorrowful therapist walks into his shop with an unusual request: to build a paper replica of a seaside park. “It must have the ocean,” he says—because the sea holds the most beautiful memories of him and his late lover. To recreate the park from memory, the two travel together to Hualien, the coastal town from his past. As they gather inspiration and share their stories, a quiet journey of healing and redemption unfolds. After all the tears—might they still find the courage to love again?
