已逝的武俠小說大師古龍，曾在故事中虛構一本由百曉生撰寫的《兵器譜》，月旦各方高手的武藝高下並列出排名，眾家英雄好漢因而將列名《兵器譜》視為窮盡生涯、以性命相拚的目標虛構故事中的《兵器譜》捲起一次次的武俠風波，而在現實中，1984年由警政署公布的「重大槍擊要犯查緝專刊」，也成為當時台灣黑道兄弟們心目中另類的《兵器譜》。當年名列專刊前十名的「十大槍擊要犯」，不但是媒體報導的焦點，「金榜題名」者的種種豐功偉業竟也變成民間茶餘飯後的熱門話題。許多不甘落於人後的兄弟們為了取得這項「官方認證」，表現自己的過人能耐，更競相犯下重案，在江湖上掀起一陣陣腥風血雨。「十大槍擊要犯」所犯下的各種罪行，也成了台灣治安史的重要一頁。以此為前提，本書擴大範圍，列出十一名台灣治安史上的重要罪犯，包括為一根香腸踏上殺人不歸路的鬼見愁、街頭駁火兩千餘槍的惡龍、史上捐款最多的黑幫殺手等等，類型涵蓋當年在首批專刊名單上的人物，以及後來出現的重要通緝要犯。書中講述這些罪犯一生的故事，記錄下他們的成長、崛起、所犯案件以及結局。透過他們之間錯綜複雜的關聯，幾乎足以拼湊出當年的台灣黑道生態，而他們最後或幡然醒悟或執迷不悔的態度，更展現了江湖人生殘酷的真實面貌。

The late martial arts novelist Gu Long imagined the "Weapon Manual," a fictional book by Bai Xiaosheng that ranked fighters and sparked deadly rivalries. In 1984, Taiwan’s Police Administration published the Significant Firearms Offenders Investigation Digest, seen by underworld figures as a real-life counterpart. The "Ten Major Firearms Offenders" not only attracted media attention but also became household names. Craving this twisted form of “official recognition,” many gangsters vied for inclusion by flaunting their prowess and committing ever more violent crimes. Their actions marked a dark chapter in Taiwan’s public safety history. Building on that legacy, this book profiles eleven infamous criminals—from the killer who snapped over a sausage to a gang assassin with the largest-ever prison donation. It tracks their rise, crimes, and downfall, mapping Taiwan’s underworld landscape and revealing how some criminals found remorse, while others remained unrepentant to the end.

【故事摘要】
邁入1980年代的台灣，是逐漸擺脫戒嚴時期的枷鎖，各個領域皆尋求自由的年代。當時的台灣，也是所謂「台灣錢淹腳目」的年代，然而隨著經濟成長，黑幫持槍問題卻日益嚴重。
1984年，警政署針對重大暴力犯罪份子，公布「重大槍擊要犯查緝專刊」，在查緝專刊上的前十名，即被俗稱為「十大槍擊要犯」。
警方的原意是為了提醒員警，激勵警方辦案士氣，卻沒想到這份名單的發布，對犯罪份子而言，如同一份「官方認證」的榜單，以證明你有多大尾。
因此，這份名單反而造成一種畸形現象，便是不在榜上的人想要擠進去，證明自己的能耐；已在榜上的人為了不能失面子，必須繼續做出符合「十大槍擊要犯」身分的犯罪行為。
首批被列入「十大槍擊要犯」的有林博文、楊雙伍、劉煥榮、梁國愷等人。接下來，林來福、黃鴻寓等人也入列。不過，因擔心此舉反而助長罪犯氣燄，1990年5月後，警政署將槍擊要犯與其他經濟、政治、金融犯罪合在一起，改稱「十大通緝要犯」。自此，「十大槍擊要犯」走入歷史。
時至今日，「十大槍擊要犯」一詞鮮少人知。本書介紹11位台灣治安史上的重要罪犯，藉由他們的故事，拼湊出當年的台灣黑道生態，探究江湖人生風光背後的永恆教訓，以警示世人歹路不可行。
