擔任社工的崔文烏，從新聞照片中認出孫趙是自己曾輔導過的學生。他無法袖手旁觀，將這場冤屈與自己學生時代的經歷重疊，決心挺身而出，為學生討回清白。
崔文烏找上政媒兩界皆有關係的前女友，透過她的協助，逐步接觸與案件相關的人士。他說服一名年輕記者與自己聯手，設法接近幾位關鍵證人，一步步拼湊出被掩蓋的真相。
然而時間緊迫，媒體與網紅早已嗅出流量機會，正伺機拋出更致命的報導。警方高層冷眼旁觀，甚至默許事態失控，崔文烏只能靠自己設局。他誘使一位炒作案件的網紅現身，讓對方險些遭警方逮捕，藉此壓制消息，並將有利於孫趙的證據送交檢警。

Yet for Cui, the victory was personal—rescuing Sun felt like saving the lost, wounded part of himself still tied to the disappearance of his own sister.
