Anti-Gravity centers on several major political events in Taiwan from half a century ago. In the years 1970 and 1971, a wave of explosive figures and incidents suddenly emerged amid a pale and repressive era, as if bombs had been planted across society. At the same time, it was also an era stepping into the imagination of space—when heaviness and the defiance of gravity occurred simultaneously. This book depicts the contradictions of that moment in history.

一九八一年生，雲林人。臺大歷史所畢業。著有《新寶島》、《字母會Ａ～Ｚ》（合著）、《文藝春秋》、《黃色小說》、《壞掉的人》、《比冥王星更遠的地方》、《靴子腿》。曾獲金鼎獎、臺灣文學金典獎、臺北國際書展大獎、吳濁流文學獎與OpenBook華文創作年度好書等獎項。

Born in 1981 in Yunlin, Taiwan. Graduated from the Graduate Institute of History at National Taiwan University. Author of The Formosa Excahnge, Alphabet Club A–Z (co-authored),The Contents of the Times, Yellow Novel, The Broken, Farther Than Pluto (French and Japanese rights sold), and Boot-Leg. Recipient of numerous awards, including the Golden Tripod Award, the Taiwan Literature Award (Golden Award), the Taipei International Book Exhibition Grand Prize, the Wu Zhuoliu Literary Award, and the OpenBook Best Book Award in Chinese.

During the era when the United States was sending astronauts to the moon, Taiwan was still under the pale shadow of authoritarian rule. The years 1970 and 1971 were marked by silence and attempts to break through the oppression. Political prisoners sought independence through riots in prisons, Taiwanese students in the United States plotted to assassinate the political leader, and explosions occurred at the American news office and the bank in Taiwan. This was also the era when Taiwan represented Free China, and among the general populace, there were already individuals aspiring to defy the gravity of the times. In this intricately woven work, the 1970s take center stage, telling the turbulent story of Taiwan's path towards democracy.
