In 1970s Taiwan, where sons were valued over daughters, Xuezhen takes on a daring mission: to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of her twin brother, Xuefeng. Disguising herself as a man, she assumes his identity as a forensic doctor and joins the police investigation team. Just before the highly anticipated performance of a New Wave dance troupe, tragedy strikes—the leading candidate for the starring role plunges to her death. The autopsy confirms it was murder. With no alibi and clear motive, the victim’s rival becomes the prime suspect. Under intense media pressure, the police resort to fabricating evidence and extracting forced confessions.
