Yen Yu
A literary voice from Changhua County, Yan Yu graduated from the Taiwan Police College and is a member of the Taiwan Crime Writers’ Association. Known for a natural, accessible style rich in entertainment value and charm, Yan Yu’s works frequently cross into film and television. In 2021, Team 403: Police on Duty! and The Sorrows of Old Werther were selected as promising adaptation texts by TAICCA and later sold for screen rights. In 2022, Framed won the Mirror Fiction Grand Prize for Film & Television Novels and was optioned for adaptation. In 2023, Corrupt Cop Lee Wen-Hao won the Ministry of Culture’s Film Script Award; its companion piece Corrupt Cop Lee Chih-Hao was nominated for the Television Script Award. In 2024, Now That I’m a Grandma, There Must Be Something More Important Than Inheritance was awarded by major TV networks (Gala TV, Sanlih E-Television) and licensed for screen adaptation.

Freshman cadet He Guanyu, intelligent and innocent, enters the police academy as cadet number seventy. However, he carries a secret that quickly draws the attention of Xu Zhanhao—a cold, tough, and annoyingly strict senior squad leader. In the rigid, militarized environment of the academy, Xu seizes every chance to “educate” him. Meanwhile, the newly appointed headmaster teams up with the police force’s most enigmatic figure—Teacher Sun—and legendary officer “Brother Yan” to push for a merger between Taiwan’s Police Specialized School and the Central Police University. Senior instructors at the academy resist this reform and begin plotting a conspiracy to overthrow the headmaster. He Guanyu and Xu Zhanhao find themselves caught in this power struggle, only to uncover deep-rooted corruption within the academy. As the conflict unfolds, the two young men begin to open up to each other, forming a profound emotional bond…
