In the Morning of La Petite Mort
A socially isolated food deliverer Matsui is infatuated with a tender loving prostitute Ching. At the bottom of society, he is longing to seek warmth from Ching. Her sudden vanish drags him into deep despair. Disheartened, Matsui rejects unwavering love from Helen, a middle-aged Filipino cleaner who often gets sexually harassed by the security guard in the apartment complex, unknowingly pushing her into a swirling abyss.
Introduction
The writer/director Wang Yu-lin's previous works include IF I HAVE TO DIE 1000 TIMES, 7 DAYS IN HEAVEN, which received six Golden Horse Award nominations, and ALIFA, THE PRINCE/SS, which was selected by several International Film Festivals including Tokyo International Film Festival Asian Future Section. The award-winning producer Patrick Mao HUANG specializes in co-production between east and west. Huang's producing credits include MONEYBOYS selected by 2021 Cannes Un Certain Regard, SUBURBAN BIRDS from 2018 Locarno, and THE ROAD TO MANDALAY from 2016.
