RICE CALENDAR
We are a tribe who eat rice. Chinese women cannot make a meal without rice. With rice, they can make everything. Our everyday white rice and plain porridge are the most basic and classic. When it comes to festivals and celebrations, we have various interpretation and formation of rice. With different shapes, different colors, and different taste with various of smells, we transform our daily eating habit into an eternal culture and humanity. In Chinese character, the word “rice” is an independent word, it could also be a radical.
Introduction
The “rice” radical brings out tons of dialects, and it also act as the origins of our eating habits, and our memories of smells. We start form the East, and encounter with the West. Calendar is the carrier of the day. We cannot live a single day without rice; we live everyday with rice but still relish the cuisine. The proverb said, we feed hundreds of people with a single kind of rice. However, we do not feed only hundreds, we feed thousands and tons of people.
