May, a rising freshman troubled about which college to attend, receives an offer from a magical academy in another world. After enrolling, she not only discovers her talent for wizardry but also befriends many and begins a college life full of adventures, battles, and love.
Introduction
The story revolves around the Austral Academy of Wizardry and Martial Arts, a school dedicated to teaching combat magic. The school consists of four houses, Spade, Diamond, Heart, and Club, which respectively train wizards, craftsmen, priests, and scholars. “Demons,” the greatest threat to the world of wizardry, are dark, devouring beings that are on the rise. The only means to destroy a demon is to fight it with wizardry. May lived as an ordinary high school student. She didn’t realize her unique talent for wizardry until she entered the Academy. She gradually discovers the meaning of her life and makes various interesting and reliable friends. They combat demons, take part in interacademic wizardry tournaments, and fight together in the continental war. At the same time, May’s romance with the noble Cole also softly grows. At the end of the story, May finally solves the mystery of the demons’ existence with biology and wizardry, thus saving the world and ushering in a new age of wizards. Wizardry is no longer only used for battling but integrated into daily life, allowing people to lead a more convenient and comfortable life. In the end, May realizes her dream and builds a glorious legacy.
Inspired by her college life, she wrote “Is This School Legit?” and it was serialized on a fiction website. It topped the website’s list for more than two years and was read by more than a million people, which is why it was edited and published.
In February 2015, “Is This School Legit? 01” was officially released, ranking second on the bestseller list and first on the light novel list of Kingstone Bookstore.
In March of the same year, the sequel "Is This School Legit? 02" was released and ranked first in both Kingstone’s bestseller list and the light novel list.
Each subsequent episode was listed on Kingstone’s bestseller list, and book signing sessions were held at the Comic Exhibition in 2015, the Taipei International Comics & Animation Festival in both 2016 and 2017, and Efong Comic in Tainan. In September 2017, a signing session was held at Showtime Cinemas Taichung to celebrate the end of serialization. In August 2018, the spin-off “Journey to Happiness” was released and once again ranked first on Kingstone’s bestseller list.
The merchandise of this work is a key project developed by the publisher. So far, more than 60 types of the merchandise have been sold, and albums of “Is This School Legit?” will be released in the future.
