Blue Bird & Tears is an enigmatical teahouse. Here, one can have a wish granted for the price of a cup of tea. All wishes can come true, no matter how absurd. A female student, a social escort, an advertising designer, and an elderly woman have all disappeared after receiving an invitation from the teahouse. What did they wish for? This is a story of how undergrad student Pai Ling-Lan gets to the bottom of an urban legend, armed with courage and bravery.
Introduction
Four seemingly unconnected individuals – a female student with a model family, a social escort preparing for her wedding, a talented advertising designer, and an elderly woman who has dedicated her life to her family – have vanished into thin air one after another. The mysterious undergrad Pai Ling-Lan uncovers some shocking truths in her visits to the family and friends of the missing persons. Under the façade of a happy family, the student Kuo Te-Hsin had been suffering domestic abuse. Social escort Lu Yen-Hui made an exception to serve guests at the hotel again to help her fiance, only to face betrayal. Advertising designer Sun Ya-Jung was passed over for important projects because of her unattractive appearance. Tsui Yu-Kung, who has made countless sacrifices for her family, ended up with a son who planned to kill his mother for insurance claims. After listening to the statements of the family and friends of the missing persons, Pai Ling-Lan discovers a common thread running through these four cases. All four of them received a mysterious letter after their suicide attempts had failed. It is said that only those who have received the letter can visit a teahouse named Blue Bird & Tears to have a wish granted. After much effort, Pai Ling-Lan gets hold of the teahouse's address and uncovers the truth of her mysterious past in the process of her investigation.
