Real name Li-Chun, Chou, who writes under the pen name inspired by Hedwig, the owl from Harry Potter, is a writer, screenwriter, and amateur French horn player. Their body of work spans genre fiction, comics, children’s picture books, and film scripts. Their novels have received numerous accolades, including the China Times Literary Award, the Chung Chao-Cheng Literature Award, and the Chiuko Modern Children's Literature Award. They have also been awarded a literary grant by the National Culture and Arts Foundation, with one of their titles named among Readmoo’s Top 100 Bestselling Literature Books. As a screenwriter, their scripts have been shortlisted for the Excellent Screenplay Award and the Golden Horse Film Project Promotion. Their lifelong wish is to bring strength to the world—through stories.

A single mother determined to pass the sanitation worker exam, Chin-Fen takes on the job of collecting garbage—through which she comes to witness the full spectrum of human life. Her eight-year marriage, like a fleeting dream, ends with her leaving empty-handed. Forced by circumstance to give up her child, she resolves to fight back—by joining the city’s sanitation crew and reclaiming custody. On her daily collection route, among the burdens everyone is eager to cast off, Chin-Fen encounters a vivid cast of characters: a heavily made-up cat lady constantly battling allergies, a brooding uncle slowly self-destructing through cigarettes and alcohol, a long-legged model perpetually chasing after the garbage truck, a sharp-tongued older brother skirting the law to make ends meet,— and herself—desperate to escape the shadows of childhood trauma, only to find she’s returned to where it all began.
